Last verified: March 2026

Connecticut's cannabis retail market launched on January 10, 2023, when nine hybrid medical/recreational dispensaries opened simultaneously. The market has since grown to 61–72 licensed retail locations, including both multi-state operators (MSOs) and locally owned social equity businesses. Connecticut's social equity program mandates that 50% of all licenses go to equity applicants — one of the most aggressive equity set-asides in the nation.
